Center of Excellence for Watershed Management and Hydropower (CoE WAHYD) actively involved The First Green Development International Conference (GDIC). The two-days conference (25th – 26th October 2016) was held at the Odua Weston Hotel, Jambi, presenting keynote speakers from different institutions such as:
Prof. Meine van Noordwijk (World Agroforestry Centre), Prof. Supyan Hussin (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia), Prof. Iskandar Z. Siregar (Bogor Agricultural University), Prof. Siti Herlinda (Sriwijaya University), Prof. Zul Zulkarnain (University of Jambi / CoE Wahyd), Ali Sophian, Ph.D. (International Islamic Universiti Malaysia), and Rachel Carmenta, Ph.D. (Center of International Forestry Research). In this international conference Prof. Zulkarnain took the opportunity to introduce the CoE Wahyd and its role in supporting sustainable development through green knowledge with basis of local needs and wisdom. CoE Wahyd is one of center of excellences existing in University of Jambi. Its initiation and development is fully supported by Millennium Challenge Account – Indonesia (MCA-I) through PETUAH Consortium (the Consortium of Higher Education for Green Indonesia consisting of IPB, UNJA, UNSRI, UNUD, UNDANA, UNRAM and UNHAS).
