The Center of Excellence for watershed management and hydropower (CeO WAHYD) is an institution that is expected to play a role in watershed management and hydropower. It’s relates with the condition of the various watershed in critical condition. Whereas the watershed is a natural resource that can provide a source of prosperity for mankind. The development of a center of excellence requires a roadmap as measured by clear criteria and indicators. Local Project Implementation Unit (LPIU) Petuah University of Jambi have discussed the criteria and indicators issued by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Education and develop a roadmap for the development of Management center of excellence watershed and hydropower through focus group discussions, workshops, and team discussions. The vision of Center of excellence for Watershed Management and Hydropower (CeO WAHYD) is to become a leading and trusted center of excellence in science and technology (Pusat Unggulan Iptek terkemuka dan terpercaya, PUI terkaya) in green knowledge and technology for watershed management and hydropower. This vision will be achieved by carrying out several missions, namely: development of institutional, human resources, excellent research, the application of science and technology, cooperating with stakeholders, and develop supporting facilities. The mission was further translated into strategies, programs, and activities whose implementation is measured by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. The project of Green Knowledge with basis of local needs and wisdom to support sustainable development, which is a grant from the Millennium Account Challence Indonesia to the Consortium of Universities for Green Indonesia (Konsorsium Perguruan Tinggi untuk Indonesia Hijau, Petuah) is expected to facilitate the accelerated development of Center of excellent watershed (CoE WAHYD). But, the roadmap of CoE WAHYD can be reviewed in every 5 years, according to development of CoE WAHYD.
